INS Arihanth: the pride of Indian navy

     Govt. of India has declared that it’s successfully completed deterrent nuclear triad   (Air, land, water) patrol of INS arihanth. It is now operational.
      India has enhanced its maritime security with INS Arihant and in the current geo political situation of international relations especially looking at the dominant position of China in Indian Ocean INS Arihant becomes much more important and being a country of 7500 km coastline it is really required for India to strengthen its Navy And having nuclear deterrent It becomes matter of great importance of India as it is only nation other than P5 members which has got this capability as China which is capable of nuclear armament which is our neighborhood country then it's really necessary for India to have nuclear deterrent This is really good initiative as far as India's national security is concern.

       As recently INS arihanth has completed its first deterrent patrol India became more capable of using nuclear missiles/weapons in water also. It took almost 30 years (3 decades) to complete the project arihanth under advanced technology vessel programme (ATVP) to Indian navy. As INS arihanth became operational India got place along with other 5 countries which already have nuclear submarines.

UK
France
Russia 
China

Important points:

• Before INS arihanth, Indian navy used INS chakra which is leased from Russia for 10 years. After a secret mission of Indian navy now India has developed its indigenous nuclear submarine.
• It has 6000 tonnes of vessel and 110 M long
• Armed with 12 K-15 sagarika submarine launched ballistic missile (750 kM range). [‘K’ stands for kalam]
•   It’s neither for Pakistan nor for china but to enhance the capability of India’s No first use policy.
• Missile can travel below 1000 kms 

Challenges:

• If we compare our missile range with other 5 countries missile’s range, our range is very low. That 5 coutries missiles can hit the target that is of more than 7000 kms off the submarine.
• As a submarine settle under water for months, communication system with operating/ head department is very important. That has to be strengthened.
• INS arihanth is a secrete project of Indian navy. So that it would be good to talk and expose it to the rest of the world. 

It is a pride moment to every Indian to know that India has developed indigenous nuclear submarine.
