INDIA – IRAN:
India had its first office of Indian ports global limited at chabahar port of Iran.
Chabahar port pave a way for the direct alternative route to Afghanistan.
India has helped Iran to develop its shahid behest port and took over its maintenance for a limited period.
Having an Indias maintaining port, chabahar, in Iran strengthens the Indian trade relations with Afghanistan.
Chabahar port has received a waiver from the U.S. sanctions on Iran.
A bridge for development:
PM opened the 4.94 km Bogibeel Bridge across Brahmaputra River.
This bridge is the longest rail cum road span.
Bridge connects Dibrugarh (river’s south bank) to dhimaji (north bank).
The then prime minister deve Gouda laid foundation stone for the construction of the bridge.
Total expenditure is 5,920 crore rupees.
Amendment:
As Supreme Court of India directed, the union govt. prepared a draft of information and technology (intermediaries guidelines) amendment rules, 2018 to curb the irresponsible and explosive massages on various social media platforms.
Online giants like google, Microsoft, whatsapp,youtube,facebook need to stamp out the child pornography, gang rape and other material.
